Description

The GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.  Use it to process digital graphics and photographs.  It's the most widely used free image editor and has features such as creating graphics and logos, resizing and cropping photos, manipulating colors, combining multiple images, removing unwanted image features, and converting between image formats.  Best of all, it's free.

Step 1: Download and install GIMP here.

Step 2: Run GIMP.  Press "File" --> "Open".  Choose an image you want to edit.

Step 3: On the main GIMP panel, select "Paintbrush Tool".  It's a picture of a paintbrush.

Step 4: Press "File" --> "Dialogs" --> "Brushes".  Here, you can choose and edit what kind of brush you want to use.

Step 5: Start drawing!  Play around with different kinds of brushes and colors.
