On 2008-11-12, Shaun, from the United Kingdom defined culture as:
Once upon a time culture simply meant making things grow. Then in the 18th and 19th centuries it was felt to be any high expression of all that is good in human growth and human aspiration, culture was perceived as something we might now define as "civilization". But with the growth of anthropology as a discipline in the 20th century, culture is now to be found in any example of how we (as individuals and as members of a society) express ourselves: from anything relatively simple, such as how we greet someone when we meet, to anything relatively complex, such as how we set about creating art. Even simple expressions of language contain within themselves clues to our mindsets.

On 2008-11-20, Klaus Cederstrom, from Rigby, United States, defined culture as:
Culture encompasses many different aspects of the human experience. Culture is an abstract idea and therefore is defined differently by everyone. Ironically the definition of culture depends largely on the culture of the definer. I believe culture encompasses the beliefs, values, morals, and superstitions or traditions of any given society or social group. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) stated that “culture should be regarded as the set of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features of society or a social group.” Outside of these characteristics a society’s culture includes the geography of the place in which the group exists. When defining a certain group of people we often think about the place in which they live as part of the definition. This is because geography adds to and helps define the aspects that make up culture that were previously stated and therefore define the culture itself. Another part of the definition of culture includes the time period or relative time period in which a society lives for this greatly influences the elements that make up culture. And finally, when defining culture one must look broadly at a society rather than individually. All individuals have tastes, values, or beliefs that may not add to or be related to that society’s culture at large. To put it succinctly, culture is the outward expression of popularly held morals, values, and traditions of any society as determined by the unique influences working on that particular group.
