Description

Rather than being solely a standalone film, "Reversal: Part One" is the first in a five-part film cycle that tells the story of a dystopian future in which the authorities have some new, alarming duties. The film cycle will explain how the system came to be and its repercussions on society. It will also explore a major disturbance in the system. Each film will be able to stand alone as its own piece apart from the other four films, but will also seamlessly connect to them. Each film is meant to represent a scene from the larger whole, as well as an independent, standalone short.

"Reversal: Part Two" is currently in pre-production. Principal photography will begin this June, and I anticipate a mid-August release.

Basic Steps & Resources

Basic Steps

1.) Wrote the screenplay.

2.) Shot all of the footage necessary, including bluescreen and location footage.

3.) Captured footage and edited a rough cut.

4.) Color corrected the footage used in the rough cut, including color correction of normal location footage and preparation of blue-screen footage for chromakeying.

5.) Created the CG environments to be composited with the live action plates, and rendered out the CG backgrounds as well as fully-CG shots.

6.) Composited the live-action and the CG footage.

7.) Created sound effects.

8.) Dubbed dialogue.

9.) Mixed dialogue and sound effects.

10.) Got a friend to compose music as I guided him on how the music should add to the film.

11.) Mixed the score with the sound effects and dialogue.

12.) Exported the finished film.

January 11th: Finished compositing live action blue-screen footage with CG footage, which included chromakeying, light spills for more natural composites, and lighting effects of the live action footage to match the CG backgrounds.
