I would say culture in the modern world is simply defined as "the influence of advertisements". My favorite one one the site is by someone nicknamed Skanz. To paraphrase him, he wrote that culture is the inheritance of information. It is very vague, but its a good broad definition of culture in my opinion. What do you guys think? What would you say is culture and what affects ours the most?

I agree. I think our generation have witnessed that that love can go far when bonding or separating people together. I'm not sure if this is what you are getting at, but I believe the reason people fight is because they love their own group enough to protect or advance it. I don't think anyone can deny that a major goal of humans to protect and advance oneself and those around oneself. But what happened in Bosnia? Why did half the country begin a genocide on the other half? And when does human empathy step in: why did so many Germans and it's allies agree to strip life out of so many Jews, just because they loved and had pride for their nation?

I think the different cultures of the world are really one culture together that is really affected by love. I'm sure John Lenon has proven this point many more times than I ever will, but the love between one or more people really effects their emotions as a whole and thats what places the world where it is.
