Since you say NetBeans, I'll assume you're using Java ME. When you compile your application for running, you should end up with a .jar file, and possibly a .jad file. The .jar file is the program itself, and the .jad file is full of helpful information to help the phone to verify and run the application. Some phones require both .jar and .jad files, but others only need the .jar file.
Installation is rather simple; connect your phone to your computer so data transfer is enabled, and upload both the .jar and .jad file (or only .jar file) into your memory stick where you can access it in your phone (usually an "other" folder).
Turn on your phone so you can use it, and find the file(s) you just downloaded to your phone. Most phones will have an installation option already handy. Either the .jad or .jar file will do.
If your phone requires a .jad file and you're missing it, download this free tool to generate it.

Pesonally, I'm against the heavy-duty software that usually comes with a device, so I use the freeware app MyPhoneExplorer by FJ Software to transfer files/send messages from my PC. If you haven't already, see if your phone is supported by it. ;)

Wait, do you mean, those applications are SPECIFICALLY for your cellphone? If so, you probably need a cell phone with some sort of OS (Palms, Blackberries, etc) to run the applications. As was said, you'll need probably an SD card (the kind in most cameras nowadays) to transfer stuff onto your phone. Go to your provider's store and they can probably tell you what to do, if not do it for you (at a fee, bleh.)

i would suggest an ipod actually. They act as full on hard drives and if you have a full program on it, you dont even need to copy it onto a computer just run it directly from the ipod!

This is wrong in SOO many ways....just because it has a hard drive doesn't mean it can run full programs...that requires RAM and Processing capabilites. Not to mention that Ipod's have their own little Operating System in a way, and normal programs aren't made for them. I know they make games for Ipods, and if this is what you were referring to please be more specific next time.

actually... you can install most games on an ipod and run them from it. for example. install all of the files of world of warcraft onto the ipod including the launch file. if you plug an ipod into the usb port of a computer, the computer will use the game's files but use it's own ram to transfer the files from the ipod onto the screen. you sir, are wrong. next time dont say blatantly stupid things without knowing your facts.

You made it sound like you could play them anywhere, on the go. You sir, should be more specific next time.

Go to your local dealer for your wireless provider...they normally have kits specific to a phone with the cords and software necessary.
I think this is what you need, but you may want to google it up just to be safe.

I have a memory card, but it disables allowing you to transfer applications and the like. "There's no honorable way to kill, no gentle way to destroy. There is nothing good in war except its ending."

it depends on which cell phone you have. and most phones require a memory card to transfer applications. also you might need to download the software for your phone on your computer before you can transfer games from the pc to your cell.
