OPEN TO ANY WHO CAN WORK with BLENDER, 3DS MAX, OR ANY SIMILAR 3D SOFTWARE!

For anyone who actually reads this post, if you able to use Blender (any version), 3ds Max, or any similar 3d modeling and animation package (cool ones could be Zbrush or Lightwave), I thought it would be cool to start an online collaborative project in making an animated short.

I have extensive knowledge and experience with Blender 2.45, Audacity Portable, and Gimp 2.2 and Gimp Portable.  I have basic knowledge of 3ds Max 2009 and Autodesk Viz, and know how to import and export from Blender into 3ds Max and vice versa.  3d modeling and animation is a hobby of mine that I plan to continue and develop all of my life, and I would be happy to work with a group of interested team members (we could determine what the movie could be and length in online posts).  We could each work on separate crucial project components, and then establish a means of sharing them.  We need at least 3 members.

Let me know, I finish work on my recent movie by February 28th.

To clarify my post, if anyone actually reads it, I think that any simple yet interesting story would work for an animated short (it should be more on the exaggerated side to be easier to make, but it could work any way).  But the problem lies not in ideas, but in online collaboration and program compatibility.  An effective means of sharing project files would need to be established so that everyone could work on each project piece, adding any important touches.

Note:  This would probably end up as a non-commercial, non-profit movie, more in the spirit of open-source, for "public amusement" kind of movie.

This could even possibly be a public message type of sequence.

My friend and I came up with an idea for a movie once.

I'm good at modeling but I fail at animating. I use Autodesk Maya.

You should probably come up with some sort of plot, and begin work on it, posting that for others to see.  People see a lot of posts saying lets make a *insert media form here*  that go nowhere, and thus want proof that it is actually going to get started.  So make a skeleton plot and some art and throw it up, people will be more willing to help

Let me know, I am relatively new at this, but would like to get a few other teammates for the collaborative project.

If you EVER hang around on the BA forums you should know that this type of request doesn't work.  If you post a propper one you may get a response.
