A 20-foot yacht with its sails set and being steered by auto-pilot ran aground in harbor in Essex, England, reported London's Telegraph. The strange thing was that no one was on board. Authorities searched the vessel and said that all the evidence was that someone must have been on the boat shortly prior to it entering the harbor, though rescue crews were unable to find anyone during an extensive search of the surrounding waters. Some officials likened the incident to that of the Mary Celeste, a ship found in the Atlantic Ocean sailing unmanned toward the Strait of Gibraltar in 1872. The crew of the Mary Celeste was never found.
