So I've started to take up the guitar for the summer, and it's not easy! I had a pretty hard time learning to play some of my favorite songs until I found this website for free guitar tabs. Since I don't know how to read music, these easy guitar tabs help me a lot. I just look at where to put my fingers and I can play some great classic rock songs, such as Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. I know that I'm going to have to be able to read music if I want to go to a music school like Juilliard but for now, these new guitar tabs will just have to do. So for anyone who wants to learn to play guitar and to get good fast, check out this guitar tabs website!

Guitar is a great instrument to learn. I've spent 6 years taking private lessons. I would really suggest taking lessons. I have also taken basic Royal Conservatory Exams for music such as rudiments of music and my grade 6 practical exam which gave me four high school credits. Tabs are great, but you won't get far with them. Especially if you ever want to learn classical / Spanish pieces. Tabs lack so much information which is necessary to become a decent guitarist. Good luck with it this summer and who knows, maybe you will take it farther.

To skiingguru1611: Yeah, I have almost no musical talent too, but I picked up my brother's old guitar and wanted to try something new this summer. He actually went to the Curtis Institute of Music, so there's definitely a lot to live up to in the family. My philosophy is that it's never to late to learn to play an instrument, and guitar is pretty sweet (with the help of the guitar tabs of course!). Look into it and you may surprise yourself. To xkenneh: Guitar is hard, but as I said before, the free guitar tabs you can get on the Guitar World website really, really helps. Without it, there's no way I would be able to play "Come Together" by The Beatles. I have pretty small fingers too, and I don't think it should impair your ability to play that much. I played the piano for a bit too, so any musical background should help.

This summer is pretty much over, and i'm too busy during school...but i was thinking maybe next summer i would hire an instructor to teach me or something.  i've always wanted to play the guitar.

I tried to learn once, but given that I have no musical talent, I failed miserably. haha. Good luck to you though.
