Interview style videos are cool, but challenging to make. This activity will show you how.
Basic Steps
Here is what you need to do.
- Develop a set of quesitons or talking points.
- Make sure that they are open ended. That is, not just simple yes or no questions.
- Start with icebreaker questions designed to establish a connection.
- Then move into more detailed questions. And be ready with follow up questions!
- Share the talking points with the interviewee.
- Consider the setup.
- Where do you want to take the video? Make sure it is quiet - little or no background noise.
- What angle or position do you want to shoot the video from?
- Is the lighing good or do you need to add lights?
- Do you need a microphone to capture voice?
- Will you try to use more than one camera? Note that multiple cameras is more complicated in terms of editing and syncing the audio.
- Where do you want to take the video? Make sure it is quiet - little or no background noise.
- Set up the location for the interview. Camera, lights, microphone, chairs, etc.
- Record the interview. You can ask a question more than once necessary and fix during editing.
- Load your video into your favorite editor. Edit, add titles, credits, etc.
- Upload to this activity and share with your friends.
