Contemporary New Media Art Contest

Contemporary New Media Art Contest

Description

Thanks to the help of the de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University, we have created a wonderful contest.

This contest provides you with the opportunity to show off your skills.  Build up your portfolio.  Gain some recognition from a university that is currently showcasing web-based, digital, and electronic new media art in their current exhibit, Tech Tools of the Trade: Contemporary New Media Art.

All you need to do is submit your Contemporary New Media Art.

New media art is an art genre that encompasses artworks created with new media technologies, including digital art, computer graphics, computer animation, virtual art, Internet art, interactive art technologies, computer robotics, and art as biotechnology.

Technology enters our lives through all avenues: home life, school, music, sports, medical treatments, after-school activities, even our country's defense systems. What assumptions do we have about technology? Will it solve our problems and make our lives easier? Or is there a chance that technology will fail us or bring about a darker side of society?

Create a new media art piece that comments on the theme of "Technology: Hope and Promise."

  • Take a look at the links.
  • Look at what others are submitting.
  • Get started!
